How long did it take you to piggyback off the ecu for the Holley install to keep your gauges working?
you only need to split the crank signal between the stock ecu an holley.. the factory ecu just needs to read rpm's for that stuff to work. so i took a crank extensions harness from tick performans, took one other connector for the crank sensor i had an then split the crank signal so its a Y splitter setup .. one end plugs into the stock crank sensor in the block an then the holley plugs into one of the other connectors coming off it an my factory harness plugs into the other one. i use the holley to give it the ground an power. the ecu only reads the crank 5v signal an only the holley or ecu needs to give it the power an ground. like i said i use the holley on mine to do that.. if you search my name i use here in google an put in holley piggy back you should see a thread on yellowbullet or ls1tech where i explain it. i split my tps sensor an my factory ecu still shifts my trans for me.
once you have the jumper made an if the holley installed it just takes as long as pulling your starter off,atfaching the splitter harness an putting the starter back on

Not simular grind mines a custom comp grind i designed..lobe ramp rates an valve events are different..but its not bad,not as loud as bullets..i run 4 mufflers on it though if u see my other vids..i have a set of ultraflo case mufflers that slip in the m80s. That system runs under the axle an 45° up,the ultraflo mufflers then sit sideways next to the t top holder spot bump an then dump straight out. Only way i can get passed state inspection being my exh must exit rear.

@@tannerstap1 duration,lsa an icl are by products of valve events.when i design a camshaft i pick the valve events the motor an app will need,then i pick what lobes i want to use. Its how cams are actually designed..rhe duration crap is just selling point being the avg joe dont know valve events an how they effect the engine

nah i dont have any..its 3" with straight threw mufflers so once it revs up it gets loud like any other ultraflo style or bullet muffler setup..the 4 mufflers is just so it can pass the db part of inspection here an they also require tail pipe out to the bumper..the ultraflo's slip into the end of the bullets that dump right at the axle normally..then they run under it with 45 degree 3" bends with the muffler sitting where the norm exh is routed on it

no,not sensor related an still had oil pressure..pulled heads an lifter had lost a plunger clip.i then pulled the engine an put a spare short block i had in it

Your setup is very similar to mine. I'm running a stock bottom end LS3, 233 / 247 camshaft , mildly hand ported factory cylinder heads, Holley super sniper 4150. I wanted to go with the Holley sniper 4500 but I read that they recommend that the engine make it least 800 horsepower. So I went with the 4150 super sniper and I am very happy with it. This car has never ran better. I just bought the CID 4.0 LS3 intake manifold and I will be putting it on my engine as soon as it shows up hopefully in a few weeks.
Yeah they clam that with that one..its what I'm going to for efi vs the 4150 seeing it said it only good for 700n/a..I plan on sending the heads to bes,I got a custom cam I designed for the cid intake and stock heads and another for the ported high compression setup seeing ill fly cut my stock pistons and then mill the heads .060 much like my ls1 setup..I thought about putting bungs in the intake and just using my hp tuners on it plus cranking the psi to 80psi on 25# injectors to get more power out the efi combo..because it forces the fuel to act sort of like a carb being drawn threw..I'm not sitting at my pc now so cant pull up cam stuff but off memory the one that should fit with out fly cutting is 239/251 114+4 an I was going to put it on huc lobes for thw rpm stability..ed curtis of flowtech induction is the man also if u want a custom app..ls n/a his cams hold most the records..ls1 9.60s,ls2 6.30s,6.0/ls3 6.20s,6.2 is 5.90s..my car with its weight being 2800# or lil less with me should go 6.0s how it sits now..28"/th400 an 4.30 rear gear..if your on yellowbullet or ls1tech I go by suicidal racing on both them..hope you run some clean numbers..def should be low 6s high 5s from thw sounds of it
Did the 4150/4500 adapter cause any issues??
no only issue was had to grind bolts that i used to bolt it to the cid intake..very small space to pass a bolt between the 2 flanges of the 1.5" adapter..works fine sadly though the combo 16.5" in tall..im actual getting ready to swap the car to the new holley sniper 4500 an ditch the adapter an carb..car has a boss 429 6.5" tall scoop glassed on and the vent tubes hit it lol...so with the 4500 swap,no spacer,no vent tube or needing space above it.it will be 6" shorter and i can run a small filter.

none..cars still not complete..it should be making close to 580 fly wheel..the heads are still stock,pistons aint been touched,its a basic pump gas 10.8-1 compression deal with a 231/243 cam..the cam was designed for a vic jr or tfs ls3 intake not the cid that i just put on it...30-32* of timing.
@@suicidal_racing when I was setting up my ignition curve with my 6012 box I found that my cylinder heads like 29° all in at 3000 RPMs the best. I actually dropped the timing down to 28 degrees for safety. I only lost 4 horsepower and 7 foot pounds of torque
@@rotaryray that might be because u went from carb to injection..injection motors tend to like less timing ive seen from playing with ls over the yrs..I'm 32* from 3k-8k rev limit..my combo was a twin to a guy named bill who ran 6.20s n/a @2950..the cam is a ed curtis piece that I got off bill before he went to a 6.2...he ran 36 degree on his setup and always been mid 30s...but these motors are known to be off sone degrees

Nice build. Great sound. I was wondering what modifications did you have to do, if any, in order to fit thr 4l80E transmission into your b-body? Shift of engine position (motor mounts) etc?
+Kevin Scott II he didny have to do any of that i believe..he is using motor plates though instead of engine mounts so he could of slid it forward or back if he wanted but if i remember right it was in the same location as when he ran a 355 in it an the trans just fit right into place.
